The Democratic Party position on abortion is  to reduce abortion by making it safe, legal, and rare.

Given the current power structure, a woman is often destined to poverty or reliance upon whoever she had the child with, be it someone she desires to be dependent upon or not, especially such as in the cases of incest or rape.

This may cause her to feel resentful as she must re-plan what she initally wanted, which was to - go to school, or start a business, but now being locked in at home- which can even lead to child abuse when the mother or other guardian feels stuck.
